If you had to do something for an entire day, without stopping, what would it be?

If you could click your fingers and be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?

If you could have three people, dead or alive, famous or not, to come for dinner, who would you choose?

If you could have a super power, just for one day, which one would you choose?

If the classroom could have anything in it - what you put in here? Why?

If you had the power to change one thing about that world that would help it, what would you change?

Would you rather go to school for an entire year without a day off and then have a full year off? Or stick to the way things are? Why?

If it could rain food on you, what would you choose it to be?

Would you rather be able to breathe under water or fly, why?

If you could be of benefit without any limitations, what would you choose to do for others? Why?

If you could turn back time, what would you change?

Would you rather eat worms or spiders? Why?

If you could change two things about your school, what would they be?

Are you more terrified of sharks or crocodiles. Why?

If you were a piece of ham and you were trying to escape from a plate so as to avoid being eaten, how would you do it?

Would you rather swim in the waters off Antarctica in your bathers or walk through the Sahara desert in a winter jackets you couldn’t take off? Why?

If you had a glass of water that was filled half way - would you say it was half full or half empty? Why?

If you lived inside the story of a book would it be Harry Potter or The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe? Why?

If you had the power to make either kindness or humour compulsory for all students, which one would you choose? Why?

If you could turn into a different animal for a week, which one would it be and why?

* set this up in an engaging way

Option 1: Inside Outside Circle

Option 2: Partner Share

Whole class forms an outside and inside circle.

Inside circle faces out and the outside circle faces in.

Call out a conversation starter.

Outside circle goes first, sharing their response.

Rotate one step to the left so you have a new partner.

Now inside person responds and rotate again.

Find a partner to share your answers with who...

has different hair to you

you have not said hello to in 3 days

is born in the same month as you

ate something similar to you for breakfast

eats something you hate

share and learn quirky facts

Did you know that a skunk's smell is so potent that it can cause temporary blindness?

Or that the immortal jellyfish can return to a juvenile state if it's life is in danger! And the moon jellyfish can clone themselves?!

Start a conversation by sharing our quirky facts here and asking people to also share their own weird and whacky facts.

Learning intention: students get to know students they would normally not talk to and therefore feel a greater sense of connection to the classroom.
